When it comes to granola, we can’t always trust store bought options as most of them have a higher than necessary sugar content to keep you going back for more. So, rather make your own and know exactly what you are putting into your body. The macadamias in this recipe naturally provide an extra creamy sweetness eliminating the need for added sugars.
Homemade Macadamia Granola
Ingredients
- 250 g macadamia nuts, roughly chopped
- 100 g coconut shavings
- 100 g sunflower seeds
- 100 g flax seeds
- 50 g pumpkin seeds
- 50 g chia seeds
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch pink Himalayan Sea salt
- 100 g dried cranberries
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 140°C
- In a large mixing bowl mix all the ingredients except for the coconut oil
- Add the melted coconut oil to the mixing bowl and mix with a spoon until everything is nicely coated
- Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet and toast in the oven for 12 minutes until everything is a light golden colour
- Remove from the oven and allow to cool before serving
- Serve with Greek yoghurt and honey
- Store in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks
